About Me

About Me

People fascinate me...  it’s as simple as that! I love to hear about their experiences and bring their stories to life.

I’m a freelance writer and author of the Vanity Fizz blog.

I grew up in Northern Ireland during ‘the troubles'. But my childhood, spent living in the lush Irish countryside, was happy and carefree.

After graduating from university in Belfast, I moved to London where I enjoyed an eventful career in retail management with a top luxury store. I then specialised in leadership training and coaching for over ten years, relishing every minute.

Yet I always harboured a secret desire to write full time. I finally took the plunge and qualified in magazine journalism. Working from my base in rural Essex, I have contributed to a broad range of publications.

I started Vanity Fizz nine years ago as a humorous commentary on life, love and relationships.

More recently I have just completed my first novel. Soldier Doll was longlisted for the Mslexia Women's Novel Competition 2017.
