About Me

People fascinate me...  it’s as simple as that! I love to hear about their experiences and help them bring their stories to life.

I’m a freelance journalist specialising in lifestyle, work, wellbeing and relationships.

I grew up in Northern Ireland during ‘the troubles’. But I enjoyed a carefree childhood living in the lush Irish countryside. In my teens I embraced the disco scene with gusto! I continued dancing my way through university (and even managed some studying too). After graduating, I packed my belongings in the back of my car and set off for a new life in London in the heady belief that things would work out.

Luckily, they did! I landed a job with Harvey Nichols where I enjoyed a colourful and successful career in retail management. I then specialised in leadership training and coaching for over ten years, relishing every minute.

But I always harboured a secret desire to write full time. I finally took the plunge and qualified in magazine journalism. Working from my base in Essex, I now contribute regularly to a broad range of publications.

I look for humour in everyday situations. Vanity Fizz is the expression of my quirky take on life.
